:: An Off-Broadway Production?? ::
My mother-in-law and I took Jordan to see an “off Broadway production” last night. Now you might be thinking - taking a four year old to a play? Or you couid be thinking that we are trying to broaden her “culteral” experience. Not! This was a Scooby-Doo play. It came to one of the local college’s auditorium. It was called Stagefright, and it was soooooo bad! I mean, I know it’s just Scooby-Doo, and it’s supposed to be silly, but this was just plain bad! It wasn’t even funny! There were only a couple of chuckles from the kids in the audience. I can only imagine that the other parents were thinking the same thing I was - “When is this stupid thing going to be over?”
I guess I can’t complain too much - at least we didn’t have to pay for the tickets. My father-in-law works part-time as security at local shows and concerts, and he got us free tickets. Why they would need security for Scooby-Doo, I have no idea. I mean there were only a total of about 400 people there - if that. One thing that did make it such a bad experience (besides the show itself) is that we had to drive 45 minutes each way in the pouring down rain, and then try to get Jordan in without getting soaked.
I tried to take a photo during the show, but it came out blurry because of the low light. I was soooo disappointed that I missed such a photo opportunity - LOL!

Today I did some Christmas shopping today. Not presents, shopping for Christmas decorations. Since we redid the great room with the red couch, I needed to get some decorations with red in them. I think I’m pretty much going with a red, gold, and cream theme this year. The red is a darker, muted red - not a candy apple red, but not burgundy either, which is what I have been using for years. We went to Old Time Pottery, because they usually have Christmas stuff pretty cheap. I ended up buying a new tree too!
The tree that I have been using for years is HUGE! I mean this thing is about 5 feet across at the bottom! Since we have the aquarium now, I just don’t have the room for that monstrous tree anymore. I got one of the slim trees, but it’s still a good size tree - not one if the pencil thin ones. It’s also hinged, which I know I am going to love! My old one was one of the ones where you have to lay out all of the limbs, match up the colors on the tips, and them stick them down in the things around the trunk of the tree. It would take me like an hour and a half to just put the damned thing together, and then I still had to put on lights and decorate it. The new one I bought isn’t a pre-lit tree. They just don’t put enough iights on them! One I looked at today was a 7 1/2 foot tree, and it only had 500 lights on it. I’ll just put my own on.

So do you like the new look of my blog and store? They are now coordinated! I just love the Fallish look they have now. If you’re wondering about the paper and elements that I used for the headers and background, they are from a new set that I just finished called Toasted Pumpkin. Isn’t it just yummy? I will have it in the store soon.

Speaking of pumpkin, how ’bout a cute little quick page made from my Punkin Spice set? This is a great set for your Fall, Thanksgiving and even your Halloween pages.

I don’t think I could sit through a bad play… let alone a bad Scoobie-doo play! You are quite the Mom to sit through it. Lol. At least you’ll be better able to appreciate the good ones when they come along. Lol.
Thanks for another awesome QP!
Happy Happy Halloween!

Christmas already??? We’re going to have the same problem since we have a huge aquarium too! We have a 3000 sq. foot house and would you believe there’s no good place to put a tree. My husband usually goes overboard and gets a 12 foot tree too! I’m looking forward to the Christmas season too though because my son just turned 2 last week and I think he’s going to be thrilled with all of the decorations and fuss! He could barely handle his birthday! After only one present, he was done and wanted to play. I wish it stayed as magical is it always was as a kid.
Thanks for the beautiful page freebie! Can’t get much easier than that!

This quickpage is lovely! I love the detail in the butterfly & the twill ribbon. Thank you once again for sharing with us. Your story about your trip to buy Christmas decorations reminded me of the children’s book “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.” If you give Traci a sofa, she’ll want an aquarium. If you give her an aquarium, she’ll want a new tree. If you give her a new tree, she’ll want…!
