:: Let the Fun Begin! ::
I see a few of you picked up the Delectable items yesterday. I hope that means that you’re planning in participating in the contest! I can’t wait to see the layouts that you guys come up with! I decided I’d jump-start the action and do a layout myself to give you an idea of what can be done with the set. This is one of my all-time favorite photos of my daughter. She just has such a serene, angelic look on her face!
We went to Target yesterday, you know - just to “look around.” Yeah right! That looking around ended up costing $82! They had some of the vintage tees on sale, and I picked up a few for my husband and a couple for me. Some of them were on clearance for under $4! So how did we end up spending $82? I did pick up Barnyard for Jordan as a Christmas present. I had to hide it under the pile of t-shirts, and then when we got to the checkout, I had to distract her while the cashier quickly rang it up and shoved in a bag - LOL! I also picked up an assortment of batteries from the dollar spot for all of the Christmas toys.
That was really the highlight of our day yesterday. I know, we lead such an exciting life! My sister sent Jordan’s Christmas present, and there were two large paper boxes on the front porch when we got home. I had to lie and say that it must be something Daddy ordered. Well, he is always ordering something off E-Bay! She never even questioned it! I got those stuck up in my closet while she was preoccupied with something. The older she gets, the harder it is to hide stuff from her - plus, she’s a pretty smart cookie.
Most of her presents are in my MIL’s storage building. All of it still has to be wrapped and assembled! I honestly can not remember what all we’ve bought her! She got so much stuff! Her big ticket item this year is the Dora Jeep. For what it cost, she better drive the tires off of it - LOL! Last year I went ahead and took a lot of her stuff out of the boxes and packaging. The way they wire and tape that stuff in there is just ridiculous! It takes forever to get a toy open!
Have you guys seen the cute purses over at Paper Princess? This is an ingenious idea! I ordered one and got it last week. I had my layouts done and waiting for the arrival of the purse - LOL! I wish that it was just little bit bigger. Not the height and width, but maybe that could make it deeper. Here’s mine all decorated up for Christmas.
I seemed to be hooked on glitter - LOL! But hey, it is Christmas time, and everything is supposed to be shiny and sparkly right? Plus, glitter looks great on layouts. It gives it just the right touch of sparkle and depth! So, for today I made some cardboard shapes with glitter around the edges. These are also in the Delectable colors, so feel free to use them on your contest layouts. Enjoy!

And know precisely what you mean about the packaging on kid’s toys. Couldn’t believe it when I first saw Barbie’s HAIR sewed down! For Pete’s Sake!!
