:: Ever Try Shutterfly? ::

Have any of you ever given Shutterfly a try? I wanted to try out one of their photo books, so I gave it a shot. I have TONS of layouts that I have never printed, and I thought this might be an nice way to get them done. Basically you upload your layouts to their site. You are able to create multiple albums in your account, so it’s easy to keep things organized. I set one up for photos and one for layouts.

The upload process for layouts takes a while, but you have to consider the file sizes. Most of my layouts average about 4MB for the JPG files. Once they’re uploaded, you can arrange them, rename them, whatever you want to do. Once you get your layouts upload, you go to the Shutterfly store and go to the photo book section. You just select the Print Your Digital Scrapbook option at the bottom. I thought it was really cool that you can create your own cover for the book. They have several styles and papers to choose from. You have to get your pictures into the photo book section, and then you can drag them on to the pages. You can arrange the pages and move layouts around until you get it how you want it.

I got my book yesterday! Let me tell you – it is fabulous! The quality of the book itself and the printing is outstanding! They are so clear! The only complaint I had, which is more my fault than their’s, is that some of my layout was cut off around the edges. They use a full bleed, which I knew about, so that’s why. What I should have done is put the layouts on a page with a small white border around all edges. This probably would have helped a lot!

I snapped a few photos of my book. Unfortunately, I am sure that you won’t be able to see the quality in these, but trust me – it’s great!     Here’s Jordan looking at her very own book with her “lambie!” What a thrill for a child – LOL!

I will definitely order more of these in the future though. They make great gifts and wouldn’t it be great to do one if these every year. You could pick out 20 (or more!) layouts from each year and have them printed. I just might have to do that for some of my older layouts!

OK, did anyone see the DigiShopTalk newsletter for March? Did you happen to notice the new Top Blogs section? Did you notice who’s blog was first to be featured? Did ya, did ya?? LOL! Yep, it was mine! Thanks to DST for putting my blog out there!

Wanna see something else funny? This site takes your photo and searches for celebrity look-a-likes. I can sorta see the Tiffani Thiessen, because of the nose, and Nia Long because of the hair, but I just don’t see it in the rest of them – LOL! Flattering though!

Did you see then new stuff I added over at Scrapbookgraphics yesterday?

Did you guys here that Meredith Fenwick is coming on exclusively at SBG? Yep! She’s in the process of moving all of her stuff over from SBB. She’s got a lot of it in the store already. Here’s a layout that I did with some of her stuff last night. Love how this turned out!     A list of items used can be found HERE.
