Get Outta Town!

That’s just what we did!  We’re at the beach again! Still got that dang cold hanging around, I wasn’t gonna let it ruin my trip! We got here around lunch time yesterday, and couldn’t check in to the room until 3:00. No big deal - we changed clothes and went out on the beach. Around 2:00 we decided to go see if the room might be ready. There was a line of people coming out of the door in the lobby waiting to check in! I was like - WTH?? So we went and ate and then came back at three - the line was even longer! I told my MIL that I’d stand in line if she wanted to take Jordan to the pool or back down to the beach. So I waited, chatted with some other people in line, and then waited some more!

After over an hour, I finally got checked in and got our room cards. Come to find out, last week was bike week here - sport bike week. That means this town was full of a bunch of young, rowdy kids. Well, needless to say, they trashed the rooms! It was taking the housekeepers 3 times longer to clean the rooms than normal. They had blocked out about 300 rooms that they couldn’t even get to! Someone came back down to the lobby while I was in line, and apparently they were mistakenly sent to a room that hadn’t been cleaned yet. They said that it was just totally disgusting! Even now, when you’re out in the area where the elevators are, you can still smell beer! Our room was fine, nice a clean - thank goodness!

I just don’t understand why these kids have to totally trash the hotels to have a good time. I know we all went through a rowdy stage, and I did my fair share of partying, but why take it to that level and damage property? They need to jack the room rates so high during that week just to cover the costs of the damages! Oh well, that’s my rant for the day! LOL! I’ll be checking back in a couple of times a day. The hotel has free wireless - yippee! I may even try to get you a freebie up for tomorrow, but in the meantime, here’s some eye candy for you to look at - LOL!

Come check out what’s new at Your-Digital-Dream this week!

Have you seen what’s new at Studio Traci this week?

That is something I have never understood either. We have friends that own a local hotel and some of the stories about what damage happens is simply horrid! Ya, I did my share of college partying but not with that kind of disregard for property. I just do not ‘get’ it.

Oh the beach sounds soooo good, Hubby and I are going to take the weekend off and head to one of the mountain lakes, less driving than going to the beach. We just want to hop in the Motorhome after work on friday and get the heck out of town. :) Enjoy your stay and I hope your cold clears up quickly!

Wish I was in your shoes! Well, don’t want the cold, but would love to have a getaway at the beach. Sounds like fun and so relaxing. :)

I know exactly what trashed hotel rooms are like. I have cleaned them! I worked in a hotel for over 3 years and I know exactly what people are capable of. Total disregard for property and for the people who are left to deal with their mess.

And the smell of beer, cigarette smoke and cleaning ash trays has made me never want to drink or smoke. lol!

    Have a wonderful time! :)

Don’t understand why having a good time has to involve trashing something! Poor housekeepers! My husband laughs at me because when we leave a hotel room or condo, I practically clean the place before we leave it and always leave a tip on the pillow!!

Your new stuff is beautiful….love the new kit! Have some fun and get rid of that cold!!!
