Happy Hump Day!! That’s Wednesday for those of you outside the US - LOL! I am sure most of you have heard of Jen Caputo. She is the fabulous template designer, and she has moved on to to some cool new templates. She is now doing a series of torn out and curled paper tears, which are so awesome! Well, she has come out with a couple of video tutorials to help give you some ideas on how to use the tears. She has two out, and both of them can be found on her blog: http://jencaputo.typepad.com/jen_caputo/. Go check them out!

I think I forgot to mention that I had an MRI done on Monday. Actually I had two done. Remember the neck spasm thing from a couple of months ago? Well, the ER doc had suggested I have an MRI to see if there was some sort of disc problem causing it. So I went to see my family doc a couple of weeks ago, and he sent me to have it done. I asked him to go ahead and have my lower back done too, because I have had a lot of problems with my back since I was pregnant with Jordan. I only have one position I can sleep in, and if I happen to roll over on my back in my sleep, I will wake up in agony! I used to be a stomach sleeper, but not since Jordan! I miss sleeping on my tummy, but it just kills my back! My mom had degenerative disc disease, and I have a feeling that’s what this is. Hopefully the MRI will show something. I don’t want to have surgery on my back, but maybe there’s some medication or therapy that will help.

I will be vacuuming out the pool today, so hopefully it will be ready to swim in this afternoon! We have a neighbor two houses over that Jordan has made friends with. He’s the same age as Jordan, which is great, because I know she misses having kids to play with. They have an in-ground pool, so we walked down there yesterday afternoon, and they went swimming for a little while. Their pool was still COLD!! Brrr…. I think the in-grounds take longer to warm up, but once they do, they hold the heat longer. Our pool is almost 80 degrees according to the thermometer, so it’s not too bad.

I have a new freebie up today!! It’s another layered template! Hope you like it!

THIS DOWNLOAD IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

HERE is the download link. PLEASE DO NOT SHARE MY LINKS WITH OTHERS OR IN YAHOO GROUPS. DON’T SUPPORT PIRACY! See - it’s on every post for a freebie! Have a wonderful day! Please leave me some love if you download the freebie! ;-)

Thanks for the great template–I’ve been into them lately. That would be great to treat your back with something other than surgery. I hope the MRI shows something encouraging.

Thanks for the template Traci!! I hope you get encouraging news back from your MRI. I know how awful it is to be in pain. Sometimes, just doing physical therapy can help…Hopefully it won’t have to be surgery, but at this time, I’m sure you’re just wanting to feel better!! Have a great day!

The template is adorable! Thank you so much.

I’m in the Sierra mountains now and it snowed last night. I’ve never celebrated my June birthday with snow before.

Good luck with your back. Try to avoid back surgery. That’s serious business.

By the way, anyone reading this haha Im looking for information on a craft i want to make for my boys. I just bought a laminator i cant wait to use and i think im leaning towards scrapping daytrips for them to organize somehow in a binder for their daycare. (each child has a binder. for drawings etc.) Anyone with templates, or organizing ideas or links please email me or leave a comment for me at the Depot. Thanks everyone.

Great template Traci - thank you! I hope you gets positive results from your MRI and that you are soon on your way to a pain free existence. I had back surgery years ago because I had a disc “rupture” in my lower back. Surgery was not too bad and recovery wasn’t bad. Good luck!

So sorry to hear about your back… I do hope they find something that is easily fixable with your back and not require surgery. I had a pinched nerve in my back a few years ago and had all this stuff done tests and what-not and ended up at the chiropractor. I was only able to afford about 3 weeks of visits at nearly $80 each since insurance didn’t cover “that” kind of medical care (a crock of crap) Anyhoo… it helped out tremendously but now about 3 years later it’s back because I never really completed to recommended 6-8 weeks course and then the once a month thing. Now I may have to start all over??? But… if you have good insurance you may be able to feel 20 years younger if you could follow such a course. I was the same way except opposite of you only way I didn’t hurt sleeping was on my stomach and I’m a side sleeper. Which they will tell you… you’re not supposed to sleep on your stomach and if it’s on your side(which you really shouldn’t) you have to have your knees together with a small pillow in between and your back and neck straight. I hope it’s something like that you can take care of without surgery… and not a bad disc or such. My friends mom had to have that done at around 45 and she’s never been the same since the surgeries.

BTW THANKS for the Awesome template today!
Take Care of yourself! and let us know how the MRI turns out, k?

So sorry to hear about your back troubles. I’ve been plagued also. I’m doing my exercises in a heated pool where I used to go for therapy. It’s helped quite a bit. Unfortunately, nothing helps the bone spur in my neck! Good luck with the results from your MRI and please keep us posted!

Thanks for the great template. Also, the new collections look great!

  66. 66Dixie

Thanks so much and best wishes!!!!!!

  67. 67Julie Benac

Thanks so much for the template! I, too, have back trouble since the birth of my first child. I have a bad disc in my lower back, but I REFUSE to have surgery. Lay LOW…take it easy. If it hurts, DON’T do it!! My mom has the neck trouble you have, and degenerative disc disease. We sound like twins!

  76. 76Janet

Thank you for the template - I mostly do mult-photo pages, so it is great to get a template that includes them. Back pain is the worst! Yoga/pilates helped me (strengthened my core so my stomach does most of the work instead of my back). Take care.

  77. 77Karie

TY for a great template! I use templates all the time and I really love the muli pic ones.

  78. 78BettyJoR

Thank you so much for the great template! Hope the MRI’s can come up with something that they can treat you for without surgery. Have a great week!!!

  79. 79Lynn

Hope your MRI brings good news!

Thank you for the template! :)

  80. 80Carole

I love the templace, Traci. Thank You!

Please stay on top of this problem and get it treated. I have had 12 surgeries and facing a knee joint replacement the end of June. I dread it, but I am thankful that what is wrong with me can be fixed.

I have a habit of letting my problems go too long and it is much worse in the end. Hopefully, I am learning. I would hate to see you wait too long if something can be done to help you.

Good Luck and keep us posted.

    Hugs,

  105. 105Risa

Thanks for the great template Traci. Now about your neck/back issue, I’m glad you had the MRI done and are getting to the root of the problem. Don’t even THINK about surgery though! The comments made earlier by others here are so right on; surgery is NOT the answer and people I know who have it done have never been the same. Also once you get it done, you have to continue the process according to doctors. How awful.

Like your mom, I also have degenerative disc disease (amongst other associated things I won’t get into) that have resulted in my becoming a patient at Toronto’s foremost chronic pain clinic (Mount Sinai Hospital). They do not advocate surgery, but have been treating me with a “variety” of drugs over the last few years to ease the pain to bring me to a point that is tolerable. This corresponds with back/neck and migraine issues.

Sometimes even though your mind and body know you’re too young for this kind of stuff, you are forced to deal with it anyway because it’s part of life. This is when attitude comes into play, because life is about evolving and change. You have to accept what you cannot change, go with the flow and learn to adapt. That’s part of the growth process - it takes on many forms.

The other information you received about sleeping with a pillow between your legs is also perfect. That’s what I’ve been doing for years. I have one on either side of me. Is it romantic? NO, but you work around those things easily.

I’m certain the doctors will be able to treat you with alternatives to “surgery” regardless the prognosis is. Please let everyone know what happens. If you need any information, or just want to talk about conditions, treatment, whatever, please write. Have a great weekend and keep your thoughts positive :) hugs xo

    Thanks for the great template.

Sorry about your back and neck troubles. Hopefully the orthopedist will be a conservative care physician and that it can be treated conservatively. My DH has back troubles (age-related), so I have an idea of what you’re going through.

  114. 114Kelly

TFS! Hope your back problem isn’t too serious! I have problems with my lower back & hips since having my boys. It’s rather annoying.
