NEW Freebie!!
Happy Friday! I hope everyone is doing well. I know there’s been some pretty bad weather this week across the country. I have family in Kentucky that got over 2 inches of ice and will be without power for 7-10 days! Yikes!
My DD also gave me a very eventful day. Somehow she fell at school and cut the back of her ear and also a place on her head right behind her ear. Her teacher tried to explain it to me, but the cuts and the way she did it just make no sense - lol! I guess it’s just my daughter’s luck! The nurse called me this morning and told be what happened and said she thought she might need stitches! My first thought is “Oh you sooo don’t know my daughter! She’d rather bleed to death than have someone stick her with a needle and stitch her up!”
So I get her from school and take her to the doctor, and whenever someone comes near her to look at her ear she starts crying. My MIL was with me and we tried to calm her down while the doctor was seeing how bad it was and what he could do. He thought he might be able to glue it closed, but she was squirming so much that he just didn’t think he’d be able to get it closed up, so he sent us over to the ER.
Luckily the ER was not busy, but we still had to wait a little while. The doctor there came an took a look at it, and his first reaction was that she was definitely going to need stitches. Well, Jordan immediately started crying because she knew that meant getting stuck with a needle to numb it. After the doctor saw her reaction and how scared she was, he said maybe he could use the glue, but that she would have to lay perfectly still while he was doing it.
He said that he’d really prefer stitches, and that if it had been any deeper that it was, it would have had to have stitches. Actually both cuts were deep enough to need something to keep them closed. So he used a whole tube of Dermabond on her ear and the cut on her head. Then she had to lay there for about 20 minutes to let it dry. The cut on her ear was pretty nasty, and her whole earlobe is purple and swollen to twice its normal size! I am just thankful that she doesn’t have pierced ears, because if she’d had earrings in, things could have been a whole lot worse!
I wanted to take some photos so I can send them to my DH since he’s over in Iraq and is not here to see her first major boo-boo. He just won’t understand how bad it is unless he sees it for himself.
So anyway, that was my excitement for the week! Now onto something a little more fun… I have a cute new set of decorated frames up at Studio Traci this week. My Fancied Up Frames are a great way to jump start your layouts!
I also have been adding some new glass pendants in my Etsy shop. Aren’t these just so pretty?

Thought I’d pop over and check out your blog - saw it listed on your email!!
Sorry about the excitement with your daugher…children and doctors/hospials/needles…my youngest son (who is now 17!) never wanted to see the doctor for anything, including broken bones!!! But he’d go, eventually after MUCH carry on…and to this day, he’d still say “no thanks” when I suggest we need to have something looked at. The joys of parenting!!!
