Happy Halloween!!

Well, it’s pretty rainy and dreary here this morning. They are saying that it’s supposed to clear up late this afternoon, and I sure hope so – because rain would make for a not so fun Halloween! We always do it up big on Halloween, and we’ve been really lucky with the weather the last several years.

We all dress up, well me, my mother-in-law, and the kids, but the this year even my husband is dressing up! That was one of the promises he made Jordan when he was still over in Iraq – that he would dress up for Halloween this year. It’s a first for me in the 15 years I’ve know him – lol! We light a fire in a fire pit and all sit around it in the driveway while we hand out candy, roast marshmellows, and just enjoy watching all the trick or treaters.

My daughter Jordan has always LOVED Halloween – sometimes I think even more than Christmas. We always get together at my in-laws house, and since the kids were born, my MIL has always done up the yard to the hilt. Each year new items are added, so it’s really quite a sight to see! Jordan is really not a big candy eater, but she loves dressing up, having the family all together and handing out candy. The last three years, she’s been all ghoulish and scary – no cutsie princess or fairy costumes for her! This year will be no exception.

My newphew, on the other hand, is a different story. He’s just one of those kids that doesn’t like anything to be different. He always has been. He’s four now, but since he’s been old enough to know what Halloween is, EVERYTHING scares him! Even though he knows that the stand ups are real, he still will not go anywhere near them – and it’s even worse if they make noise!

Jordan just taunts and terrorizes the poor kid on Halloween. She was never scared of any of the decorations! We keep hoping every year that he will get better, but so far, there has been very little improvement. It makes for a whiny, crying filled evening, which is not too much fun… I guess we’ll see tonight how he does, but so far, he won’t go near anything – even in the daylight!

So anyway… I just wanted to post a couple more pics of my wool owls. I have sold about half of the ones I had listed, and they are now relisted. PLUS – Everything in my Posh Girl Boutique is 20% OFF this weekend!

OK, well I’m off to double check and make sure we have everything we need for our costumes in case I need to make a run to pick something up. I know I need to go in search for some red legwarmers for Jordan to wear. She is going to be a gothic cheerleader this year, and I think she needs something to cover her boots… maybe some fake fur would look cute! Hmmmm…… now I’ve got myself thinking – lol!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Halloween, and they the weather cooperates for you all! Keeping my fingers crossed for ours!
