What a weekend!

This whole weekend was just one big blur! WARNING - not for the weak stomached! First of all, my daughter woke us up at 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning to announce that she’d “gotten sick.” I said, “What do you mean?” Then she told me that she’d thrown up, which never crossed my mind when she said “sick” because this child has NEVER thrown up in her life - other than baby spit-up.

I know I should count myelf as EXTREMELY lucky to have never had to go through this in the 7 1/2 years she’s been alive! Anyway - I asked her if she felt OK, and then I asked her where she’d gotten sick, and naturally it was my worst fear - in her bed. So I get her to the bathroom, and get here cleaned up as much as I can. Then I stripped her bed and took it all down to the laundry room. My GOD - the smell was awful!

I guess I should also throw in here now that my husband is the biggest WIMP when it comes to bodily functions! He was never a whole lot of help with diapers when Jordan was a baby - he would literally gag if he had to change a stinky - lol!

So I get her all settled, and make sure she’s not going to get sick again. Since her bed was out of the question, she got in bed with us. By this time it was about 1:30 a.m. Well, at 3:00 a.m. she wakes up saying that her stomach feels funny. Phil asked her if she felt like she was going to get sick, and she said no, it just felt funny. Well folks, let me tell you, if your kid tells you their stomach “feels funny” it means they’re getting ready to puke! Phil starts yelling, “Get her, get her!”  I’m trying to get the covers off of me and grab her at the same time. It doesn’t help that our bed is so friggin’ high!

Well, I thought I’d gotten her in time, but by the time I got her cleaned up again, he’s already yanked all of the stuff off the bed! So, after I find him another blanket, she and I just go downstairs. Long story short - I got NO sleep that night. She was up every hour and a half. I just kept a trash can by her while she laid on the couch. She finally stopped at about 9:00 a.m., and she and I went back to bed for a little while.

She was feeling better when we got up, but she was totally wiped out - POOR BABY! She just laid on the couch the rest of the day. The rest of my day was spent doing laundry. I ended up having to wash all of her bedding twice to get the smell out! Sorry, I know that’s too gross!  My  MIL came up to stay with her while I took our king size quilt to the laundromat to wash it. It’s so big and heavy that it won’t fit in our machine.

I also got A TON of pendant orders  - I think I’m up to about 20 now, several calendar orders, and a custom card order. Of all days ! I felt like such a zombie! We all slept well Saturday night though, so yesterday was catch up day for me! I finished up the laundry, got all of the pendant orders started, made the calendars and cards, etc…

In case you all have not taken a look at my custom photo pendants, I have several to choose from in the TSD Etsy shop. These are my two most popular styles.

I also wanted send out a big ol’ THANKS to those of you that have left comments on my Note Card GiveAway post. I have hardly even had time to promote it with all that’s been going on this weekend! Well, caio for now - I’m off to get Jordan ready for school.

Well, after a few balmy days of 65 degree weather, it’s definitely feeling more like Winter! The car was all iced over this morning, and I had to start it and let it defrost before I could take Jordan to school. It is December 1st after all, so I guess it should be getting colder.

I am running a limited time special on my yarn wreaths. From now through Friday, 12/4, all wreaths are 30% OFF!! Here are a couple of the Christmas wreaths I have listed, but there are more in my shop. Come take a closer look!

I got an email from Inspire Magazine, which is an online publication, and they will be featuring my 2010 Customizable Calendar in the December issue that comes out tomorrow. How cool is that! If you haven’t checked them out, you need to. They have some really great tips, projects, how-tos, and articles!

In case you haven’t seen the calendat, it’s a DIY project that you customize by adding your own photos and printing yourself. The great thing about digital items is that you can use them over and over! You can print the same calendar multiple times to make gift for friends and family, or you can customize it for each recipient by using different photos.

There is also an option for having me do all the work for you! Just email me the photos, and I will put your calender together for you, print it, and ship it out to you! You can’t get any easier than that!

If you’re looking for a more mod and trendy calendar, check out the other calendar I have. This one is not a digital download. It is a physical product that will be shipped to you. I love the fun and funky images!

I have also been busy adding TONS of card sets to my Posh Girl shop. I have a few styles of  Christmas cards available, and I also have everyday cards. These are CUSTOMIZABLE too! You can pick your colors, font, and envelope color! Cool huh?

Phew… Just finished adding a TON of new stuff!

They make it so hard to go in and change the prices, so this is the easiest way to do it…Come on by and take a look around. I have some great items that would make great gifts!

Here are some of the new jewelry items that I added today.

Well, I’m off to start dinner - whatever that might end up being - lol! Have a great week!

Long time no post! I was having major issues with my hosting company, and my site was down for about two weeks! I couldn’t get any response from them, so I switched hosting companies, and then I had to wait for all of my info to re-propagate to the new server. And then along came Thanksgiving week, which kept me hopping…

Anyway… now that everything is back up and running, I can begin posting again! I have added a TON of new items to my Posh Girl Etsy shop, and there’s no way I can post all of it here, but I will show you a few of my recent additions.

I have added a couple of CD desk calendars. These make great gifts for just about anyone! This one is so cute. It’s full of all kinds of great illustrations. This is shipped in a plastic jewel case - ready for gift giving!

This calendar is a digital calendar that will allow you to add your own photos to make a truly personalized gift for friends and family.

I have also added a lot of new customizable note cards sets. These can be personalized with your choice of colors, font, and envelope color. These are great for stocking stuffers!

e frigid temps.

So for all of you die-hard shoppers, I hope you picked up some great bargains! I guess I’ll wait to see what Cyber Monday brings - that’s more my style - lol! Have a great weekend all!

Happy Halloween!!

Well, it’s pretty rainy and dreary here this morning. They are saying that it’s supposed to clear up late this afternoon, and I sure hope so - because rain would make for a not so fun Halloween! We always do it up big on Halloween, and we’ve been really lucky with the weather the last several years.

We all dress up, well me, my mother-in-law, and the kids, but the this year even my husband is dressing up! That was one of the promises he made Jordan when he was still over in Iraq - that he would dress up for Halloween this year. It’s a first for me in the 15 years I’ve know him - lol! We light a fire in a fire pit and all sit around it in the driveway while we hand out candy, roast marshmellows, and just enjoy watching all the trick or treaters.

My daughter Jordan has always LOVED Halloween - sometimes I think even more than Christmas. We always get together at my in-laws house, and since the kids were born, my MIL has always done up the yard to the hilt. Each year new items are added, so it’s really quite a sight to see! Jordan is really not a big candy eater, but she loves dressing up, having the family all together and handing out candy. The last three years, she’s been all ghoulish and scary - no cutsie princess or fairy costumes for her! This year will be no exception.

My newphew, on the other hand, is a different story. He’s just one of those kids that doesn’t like anything to be different. He always has been. He’s four now, but since he’s been old enough to know what Halloween is, EVERYTHING scares him! Even though he knows that the stand ups are real, he still will not go anywhere near them - and it’s even worse if they make noise!

Jordan just taunts and terrorizes the poor kid on Halloween. She was never scared of any of the decorations! We keep hoping every year that he will get better, but so far, there has been very little improvement. It makes for a whiny, crying filled evening, which is not too much fun… I guess we’ll see tonight how he does, but so far, he won’t go near anything - even in the daylight!

So anyway… I just wanted to post a couple more pics of my wool owls. I have sold about half of the ones I had listed, and they are now relisted. PLUS - Everything in my Posh Girl Boutique is 20% OFF this weekend!

OK, well I’m off to double check and make sure we have everything we need for our costumes in case I need to make a run to pick something up. I know I need to go in search for some red legwarmers for Jordan to wear. She is going to be a gothic cheerleader this year, and I think she needs something to cover her boots… maybe some fake fur would look cute! Hmmmm…… now I’ve got myself thinking - lol!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Halloween, and they the weather cooperates for you all! Keeping my fingers crossed for ours!

A new line of items!

OK, I have not dropped off the face of the earth! I know it’s been a week since my last post, but I have a good excuse! I have been busy designing and making a new line of items for my PoshGirlBoutique Etsy shop. I have mentioned many times that I have a thing for owls, and I had purchased some wool sweaters from Goodwill a couple of months ago with the intent of using them to make felted flowers.

Well, the felted flowers have somehow never transpired, but while organizing all of my supplies, I decided that I had to do something with the sweaters I had aquired. So I felted them in the washing machine, and was just amazed by how well they turned out! So what do I do? I head back to Goodwill in search for more! I was lucky enough to find several more as well as some wool blazers.

So after ripping and cutting everything apart, felting them in the washer, drying them, and chasing bits of wool fluff all over the laundry room (LOL!) here is what I have come up with. These little owl babies are totally eco friendly! The bodies are repurposed sweaters or jackets, and the eyes and noses are eco felt. They buttons are ones that I have had forever, plus I’ve been able to collect some new ones from my recent Goodwill purchases.

Here are just a few of the owls that I listed, but there are many more in my shop. I have several more cut, but I still have to add all the parts and stitch them together. Hopefully I will get some more listed later this week. My next endeavor is going to be a different shaped plushie - perhaps a little perched birdy…

Build Your Own Beanie!

I just added a cute new item to my Posh Girl Boutique. You can now build your very own custom beanie! You choose your beanie color and any flower from my shop to make a beanie hat that is truly your style. This is great for creating something to match a specific outfit or even a jacket or coat.

The look so cute on little babies, girls and teens, and I’ve even seen women wearing them. These are also great for portrait sessions!

Here are a few examples, but there are tons of flowers to choose from in my shop!

Phew… A Few Crazy Days!

Wow! I can’t believe I haven’t posted here in over a week! I’ve just been super busy with all sorts of stuff! I’ve had several custom photo pendant orders, which has kept me pretty busy. I guess people are starting to so their Christmas shopping! Plus my daughter was out of school Thursday and Friday…

The weather here has been so nasty for the last week! I am soooo sick of rain! I can’t remember us having this many yucky/ rainy days in a long time! I’m ready for some sunshine! We haven’t been able to even get the grass cut in almost two weeks because it’s been so wet… The dogs (Shi-tzus) hate it when the grass gets tall enough to rub their bellies! Aren’t they just little cuties? Well, my male is not so little - he ended up being rather large for a Shi-tzu!

Well, since I haven’t postedin a while, I do have a lot of new items in my Etsy shop to share!

Well, I guess that’s it for today folks. Hope you all have a great Sunday!
